Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

This page describes your right under California law to direct The Difference App LLC (“The Difference,” “we,” “us”) not to sell or share your personal information, and how to exercise it.

1. Your right

If you are a California resident, you have the right at any time to direct us not to sell your personal information and not to share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. You also have the right to limit our use and disclosure of your sensitive personal information. This is a standing right — you may exercise it whenever you choose, and you may change your choice at any time.

2. How to exercise your choices

You can opt out using either of the following methods, and you are not required to create an account to do so:

Opt-out preference signals. We honor opt-out preference signals, such as the Global Privacy Control (GPC), where your browser or platform sends them, and treat a valid signal as a request to opt out of the sale and sharing of personal information associated with that browser or device.

In-app control. You may use the “Your Privacy Choices” / “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” control in the app’s privacy settings, which is available to you at any time, to opt out and to limit the use of your sensitive personal information.

3. How we handle your request

Once you opt out, we will stop selling and sharing your personal information as soon as feasible, and in no event later than fifteen (15) business days after we receive your request. We will also notify the third parties to whom we sold or shared your personal information and direct them to honor your request.

4. No discrimination; duration

We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy choices. If you opt out, we will wait at least twelve (12) months before asking you to opt back in to the sale or sharing of your personal information.

5. A fair, equal process

Exercising your opt-out will not require more steps than opting in, and we will not use confusing language or design intended to discourage you from making the choice. The control will not require you to search through this notice or our Privacy Policy to find it.

6. Authorized agents

You may use an authorized agent to submit an opt-out request on your behalf. We may require the agent to demonstrate authority to act for you.

7. Other states

Residents of other states with comprehensive privacy laws may have comparable rights to opt out of the sale of personal information and of targeted advertising. You may use the same control to exercise those rights.
