Because The Difference helps you manage your weight and wellness, some of the information you give us — like your weight, body mass index (BMI), what you eat, and your activity — is considered “health information” under the law. We want your clear, specific permission before we collect and use it. Please read this short notice and let us know you agree.

What health information we collect

With your consent, we collect the health-related information you choose to provide and generate through the app, including your weight and height, BMI, caloric and dietary intake, activity and exercise data, and the goals and progress you track.

How we use it

We use your health information to provide the core features of the app — including tracking your progress and powering the predictive and personalized insights that are central to the Service — to support you, to keep the Service secure, and to comply with our legal obligations. We use it for these purposes only, and for any additional purpose only with your further consent.

Who we share it with

We share your health information with service providers who help us operate the app, under contracts that limit them to working on our behalf. We may also sell your health information and share it with third parties, such as data and advertising partners, to support and develop our business. Because your health information is sensitive, we will only sell it with your separate, affirmative permission — which is what this notice asks you to give. You can withdraw that permission at any time in the app’s settings or by contacting us, and we will stop selling your health information going forward.

Providing this consent is your choice. You can withdraw it at any time in the app’s settings or by contacting us using the details below. If you withdraw consent, we will stop the collection and use that depend on it, though doing so may limit features that rely on your health information. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we lawfully did before you withdrew it.

If you live in Washington, the My Health My Data Act gives you the right to access the health data we have collected about you, to withdraw your consent, and to have your health data deleted. You can exercise these rights using the contact details below.
